Our previous pracs have introduced us to the equations that govern how simple populations grow but they carry with them several important assumptions which limit their application to real world onservation and management scenarios. To better represent how populations grow we will incorporate the equations and their modifications (the stochasticity inclusions) to model population growth at a finer level - namely stage structured population growth. The basic principle here is that depending on the life stage of the individual of a population, that individual likely possesses different demographic growth parameters i.e. very young and very old members of the population likely won’t be able to reproduce successfully.
